CBECC-Res 2022 can be used to show compliance with the performance approach of the 2022 California Residential Building Energy Efficiency Standards for single family building permits filed on or after January 1, 2023.

CBECC-Res 2022.3.0 - July 11, 2023
CBECC-Res 2022.3.0 was approved June 16, 2023 by the California Energy Commission for demonstrating performance with the single-family residential provisions of the 2022 Energy Code. -
CBECC-Res 2022.3.1 - May 3, 2024
CBECC-Res 2022.3.1 was approved May 3, 2024 for demonstrating performance compliance with the single-family residential provisions of the 2022 Energy Code. A description of this release is located here. -
CBECC-Res 2022.3.2 SP1 - August 21, 2025 (alternate link)
CBECC-Res 2022.3.2 was approved Jan 30, 2025 for demonstrating performance compliance with the single-family residential provisions of the 2022 Energy Code. A description of this release is located here.CBECC-Res 2022.3.2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) was released in August 2025 to allow a project to utilize Executive Order N-29-25. Other than adding this capability, the software is unchanged from version 2022.3.2.
Permit applications made on or after October 1, 2023 must use CBECC-Res 2022.3.0, 2022.3.1 or 2022.3.2.
Please note: CBECC-Res 2022 can read RIBD files generated in CBECC-Res 2019 (backwards compatible), but CBECC-Res 2019 cannot read RIBD files generated in CBECC-Res 2022 (not forwards compatible). If you are also using older CBECC-Res compliance software, be sure to install the programs in different directories.
